I’m so excited about the Making Smaller Better conference happening at Penn this Friday. It covers much of the same ground as the Reclaiming Vacant Properties conference in Cleveland – vacant property reclamation and management – and is also directly relevant to my thesis. It kicks off Thursday night with a talk by Toni Griffin, who’s helping to remake Detroit in a pretty ambitious way. Other luminaries include Dan Kildee, Terry Gillen, Joyce Wilkerson (from NOLA), state reps Chris Ross and John Taylor, and a few of Penn’s own: Mark Alan Hughes, Laura Wolf-Powers, and John Kromer.
